She stumbles blindly through the forest,
the tears racing down her cheeks.
The trees loom above and around her,
Dominating the space.
Gone are the days
Of magic
The picnics and warm summer nights.
She seeks a place to hide
to escape her mind
A nothingness where existence
Is wholly subjective
And does not include
the anxieties and troubles
and over-thinking
of human life
Oh how free, how liberating
For a mind not to constantly
be awake
depriving sleep
depriving life
The leaves in front of her blind her,
the thorns catch her skin,
Desperate for something to cling on to.
The poisonous berries hang in front of her face
Tempting her to take the final plunge
Into oblivion
And endless freedom.

The Waves of Uncertainty
There is truth in my waves of uncertainty,
their message hidden in the foam of my eyes.
Don't look
to the glass
within my heart,
it shatters
much too easily

Comic Book Hero
We met in the Summer, I was single and free,
So fragile and sweet, he took care of me.
He was so much fun, exciting and new,

No comic book hero, but a villain disguised.
Our romance was deep, like Superman and Miss Lane
Iron Man, Miss Potts, Spidey and Mary Jane.
He impressed me with gifts, and words sublime,
Affirmations of how he would always be mine.
Like a comic book hero, he swept me away.
He promised me the world, the night and day.

Everybody will have one or multiple fears,
Some of them can bring us to tears.
Our fears will never leave us,
A fear is something we will always possess.
When we face that which we fear,
Even if it's only once a year.
We might be scared to death,
Slowly trying to get control over our breath.
Our heart is beating at a much faster pace,
We might even try to maintain a straight face.
Someone who is courageous,
Even if what that person does might be outrageous.
Is somebody who still fears like you and me,
But who still dares to be and think free.
True courage is not hiding from your fear,
But to face your fear head on, even if you'

I have issues believing this is your first poem, it's so amazing! Maybe the first you've published, but I would be willing to bet you have a folder or something tucked away with poetry scribbles. Brava for publishing this, it's wonderful!
You seem to keep switching beats around and it makes the flow choppy. I like it, though, it adds to the poem. I mentioned it as something to watch out for.
